SSC CGL Changes in Exam Pattern and Selection Process
Staff Selection Commission is a well known recruitment commission of India which recruits on various posts of central government of India. Recently, On May 15, 2018 Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the SSC Combined Graduate Level (CGL) recruitment notification. Online applications process has been started from May 16, 2018 and candidates can apply on or before the last date. The last date to apply is June 16, 2018. CHANGES IN SSC EXAM PATTERN / POSTS
The changes in the SSC Exam pattern and selection procedure are given below-
- Reduced Exam Time- Earlier SSC conducted SSC CGL Exam online in 2018 for the first time which was for 75 minutes. It resulted in high cut-off marks so the SSC reduced the exam time for 15 minutes. We hope the change could decrease the cut off marks in the upcoming exam.
- New posts introduced: New post is also released by the SSC this year. Post of Assistant Accounts Officer (Post code – $ and Grade Pay – 4800/-) Department of Indian Audits & Accounts, is introduced this year by SSC.
- Commission has clarified the maximum age limit:Candidates were confused regarding upper age limit for SSC CGL 2018, whether it is 27 or 30 years. The SSC now announced that the upper age limit for excise inspector, preventive officer and examiner will be 30 years. Latest notification is available on the official website of SSC: www.ssc.nic.in.
- No mention of the post of compiler:Earlier, SSC recruits for the post of compiler but now in the year 2018 this post was not declared by the SSC.

SSC CGL 2018 Exam Structure
SSC CGL exam is a popular exam of India conducted by Staff Selection Commission to recruit on various posts of Central government. Selection Process is little bit difficult but after that candidates show their huge interest in this exam. The selection of eligible candidates is done in four tiers. Large numbers of aspirant appear for this exam but only a few can crack all the 4 tiers. SSC CGL is a computer based online examination. Tier 1 and 2 will be held online. There are four tiers in this examination. Tier 3 is a descriptive exam.
SSC will conduct both Tier 1 and Tier 2 exam in online mode and the time limit of tire -1 is reduced to 15 minutes. SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam Pattern will remain same.
The Examination will be conducted in four tiers as indicated below:
Tier -1 – Online Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)
Tier -2 – Online Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)
Tier -3 –Descriptive Paper in English/Hindi (writing of Essay/Precis/Letter /Application Writing)
Tier -4 – Computer Proficiency Test/ Skill Test (wherever applicable)
